That’s the building we have all our classes for these 2 weeks. All Hallows’ school. it’s a very holy school with big and small chapels and sister Mary statue, cross, jesus in every classroom.
Every morning 8:15am I have my musicianship level 4 class in the small chapel.
There’s a very short break every morning 10am, but got to practice ensemble singing with course mate and even prepare for the next class practicum presentation.10:30am Methodology class. I’m going for secondary methodology level 1, it’s at the 3rd floor, so it is pretty hard core to climb up stairs. The painted glass window is very beautiful during evening when sunlight shine through.
12noon is the moment i hate most, cause have to get up and do practicum, take turn to present lesson plan. It’s so hard to talk properly in front of everybody, even memorizing the script over and over again still will have to make changes when James’ want other ways for the lesson. But learning a lot from here… talk less but in a more effective way of teaching. Everyone improved tremendously from the first day we came. 1pm is one hour lunch time but still a lot of practices to do cause we have to turn up for assessment ourselves for any memorized sing and play credit point.
Sometime lunch time is only 15minutes cause there’s vocal performance for vocal summer school or other presentation that we can optionally watch it.
2pm is an one hour choir time. All the first year female are grouped in women’s choir. 2 days once we exchange with the SATB choir location, from big chapel to small chapel. The big chapel is very beautiful, but it’s a bit like open air, high ceiling. So not enclose, it will be very hot if it’s a hot summer. But this 2 weeks the summer is very nice whether, cooling and comfortable.
Women’s choir practicing at the small chapel. -------->Today is a first attempt to combine both women's choir and SATB choir together to sing a final piece. so everyone squeeze into the big chapel. The sound is so magnificent. I’ll try record what we sing on the concert day, the sound is very rich and vibrant. Never hear such beautiful sound before.. a lot of good singer in there.
3pm is conducting class until 4:30pm. Having conducting test starts from today. Everyone have to conduct 2 pieces. I’ll have my turn tomorrow.
Everyday I’ll stay back to practice a bit before go home, cause we need to memorize a lot piano sing and play for 2 classes and 4 song.
After class still got assignment to do, everyday get to sleep later and later cause the due date for every assignment is always in a day.
But I do see everyone improve so tremendously in every classes. Met a lot of new friends, they are Australian school music teacher and half of the class is University Queensland’s Music Student. Oh.. and met 2 Taiwanese school teacher as well. The Australian are very dedicated and loving people. They exchange notes with me, give me ideas and even help to print out my assignment. Thank you them so much.
